Into the Wild

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, is a non-fiction book that tries to piece together the motivations and last months of Christopher McCandless.  After cutting off all contact with his family, McCandless went virtually unprepared into the Alaskan wilderness and died within a year.  While many were critical of McCandless and his actions, Krakauer,  who is also an adrenline junkie, explores others who had similar misadventures to McCandless and paints a sympathetic picture of the young man.
